Graduate students have obtained a variety of scholarships and awards.

The Royal Historical Society and the Institute of Historical Research awarded Tom Parkinson the Rees Davies Prize; the Neale Award for Eloise Davies; an RHS/IHR Marshall Fellowship for doctoral research at Humaira Chowdhury; and second for the Alexander Prize to Max Long.

Dr. Merve Fejzula and Dr. Ruth Lawlor was co-winner of the Sara Norton Award for Most Effective Thesis in American History. Dr. Sara Caputo and Dr. Jake Subryan Richards is co-winner of the Prince Consort and Thirlwall Prizes for a unique historical research thesis.

Grace Whorall-Campbell received the Social History Society Graduate Award. Fearghal Grace won the Robert Silver Award. George Morris received the Duncan Tanner Prize.

Max Long and Scott Mandelbrote have received grants from the AHRC.

Our undergraduates have received a variety of awards and nominations.

In Part II of Historical Tripos, Radka Pallová was credited with Boris Fonarkov for "Reconsidering the Nature and Extent of the Failure at Nikolai Sparfarii's Embassy in Peking, 1675-177". Radka Pallová was also nominated for the Winifred Georgina Holgate-Pollard Award for Student with Best Leads for Part II, the Royal Historical Society Award for Best Thesis, and the Gladstone Memorial Award for Best Thesis Among Candidates in history -, economics and social and political sciences. Gabriel Osborne received the Istvan Hont Prize for his thesis entitled Of Traffic and Trade: the early trendy discourse of exchange, which was also nominated for the Ellen McArthur Prize for the best undergraduate thesis in economic history.

Khadija Tahir was awarded for her thesis “An Urban and Social History of Bhatti, c. 1930-1939'. Charlotte Gamble received the Sara Norton Junior Award for Best Thesis in American Political History for “Policing the Black Dance Hall: Leisure, Surveillance and Uplift in the African-American City, c. 1900 to about 1930'. Broderick Haldane-Unwin was jointly nominated for the Gladstone Memorial Prize for one of the best essays among candidates in history, economics and social and political science for "No cash will farhinth do bargain for my life": prevalence and mechanics Ransom in The Viking Age,” which also received the Cambridge Historical Society Prize.

Alice Byrne was nominated for the Ellen McArthur Prize for one of the best undergraduate dissertations in financial history for "The Industrial Gender Order in Lancashire, c. 1960-2000", as was Fiona Mitchell for "Women's Employment in the North of England, 1767-1851". Mitchell's thesis was also nominated for the CUQM award for one of the best students applying quantitative strategies in triposes in the social sciences and humanities. Rachel Imrie was nominated for the Ellen McArthur Prize for Best Undergraduate Thesis in Financial History for 'The Industrial Gender Order in Lancashire, c. 1960-2000'. Michael Fraser was nominated for the Royal Historical Society Prize for one of the finest dissertations in Scottish history for 'Scottish Presbyterians and the 'Protestant Cause', c.1685-1748' Trudy Yates has been nominated for Parliament's History Dissertation Prize for Most Effective Dissertation in the field of British or Irish parliamentary or political history for "The Office of the Principal Secretary, through the eyes of Robert Beale". Billy Liu was nominated for the German Historical Society Prize for one of the best dissertations of German History for "Max Weber and Joseph Schumpeter as Theoreticians of Democracy in the Age of Catastrophe".

In Part One, MS Rubinstein (Trinity) received the Faculty Award and MF Markan Jones (Wolfson) received the Cambridge Historical Society Award.

David Austen received the Winifred Georgina Holgate-Pollard Award as the student with probably the best degrees in the 2020 Historical Tripos Part II. Lili Donlon-Mansbridge received the 2020 award from the British Society of Sport in History.
